» Do United Express miles/segments count in Aeroplan?
I'm a Newbie here and new to actively collecting miles. I've read the primer but still have some questions. I'm planning a YYZ - LAX trip. Some segments are served by United Express / Sky West Airlines; UE /AWAC; or UE /Atlantic Coast. Will I get Aeroplan status miles for these segments or just the UA segments, and do all the segments count in Aeroplan? Is there a limit on the number of stops enroute? How much can I zig-zag? I'm trying to get 60 segments before end of June when my business travel ends for this year. Also, do I have to return by the same route to keep the return fare low, or can I return by a different route? I'll be leaving Mar 15 for three days of meetings starting Monday the 17th in LA. Any other suggestions to max...... - 2008-11-18
» Minimum connection time changed
Well at YYC anyways it now appears to be 35 minutes and not 30 as it was yesterday (almost derailed a booking but managed to get the last seat on an alternate routing). Ac.com under the info tab still shows 30 min but ac.com will not book it today and says the minimum is 35 minutes. If you have any upcoming 30-34 minute connections this may force a sched change your way.I'm assuming you mean minimum domestic connect time.Yes, domestic to domestic.Yes, domestic to domestic. :30 is the connect time to/from Jazz :35 is the mainline connect timeYup, I've heard they will change YUL's too very soon... » OT: YFC becomes YFC International Airport
http://www.cbc.ca/cp/Atlantic/070315/t03159A.html FREDERICTON (CP) - The airport in New Brunswick's capital city is now called Fredericton International Airport. Airport president David Innes says getting the international designation is just another tool to help market the facility. Fredericton currently has a Delta Airlines connection with Boston and charter flights to a number of southern vacation destinations like Cuba and the Dominican Republic.Until they have an MLL, they won't be a real first class "International" airport!Kind of reminds me of Bellingham International.Even YKF has been known as Waterloo International Airport for some time now, so why not YFC? I guess "International" is an official term, but it always struck me ...... - 2008-11-18

» Need 8 segments for 2 days of travel
I need 8 more segments to keep my AA Gold status and I need some help. I have been searching thru ITA up and down and have not found anything that is affordable to me < $400. Does anyone out there have any suggestions? I found that on the 19th of December the airfare on AA is rather cheap (don't know why but that day seems to be the cheapest). The only bad thing about traveling on that day is I am supposed to go on my son's field trip. I also only have a little over 13000 EQMs so I doubt if i could make up that much ground with only miles. I can't fly overseas because I do not have a passport. My home airport is ICT (yeah they call it the Air Capital but it usually costs an arm and a leg to fly from here). Thanks. :confused:I ...... - 2008-11-18

I was planning to drop DL in favor of UA next year but in light of the merger discussions I'd like to requal for DL Plat which I hope would then translate to UA 1K. Any ideas on trips from the referenced airports? Also open to other ideas. Best if I could do this in one or two shots. Thanks for any tips.I've snooped around and it looks like I could do three LIT-PDX turns in like two days for about $700 minus a $100 voucher for a net of about $600.How about a weekend in FRA? » Which Tattoo should i get first?
So i'm getting a tattoo soon and I have three ideas and i don't know which one to get first (ill be getting them all eventually)... #1 A tattoo of the word "strength" on my wrist, because my name means strength and I think you have to be strong to get through life, whether it's the strength of love, mental strenght, and sometimes even physical strength. #2 The letters of the words "just live" over lapping eachother to make a weird design on my ankle. I'd get this because i think peope, myself included worry too much about what the future will bring instead of just living in the present. #3 I'd get the words "what have i become" written on the outter side of my foot. » XBMC on a Fiirestation?
I am happy to have a fat and powerful HTPC running XBMC on the main family room PC, when it comes to bedrooms, it seems that 'lighter' hardware with a small footprint and low power consumption would be desirable. (OK, it would be nice in the family room too.) Initially, I was pondering whether any of the existing HD media streamer STBs like the istar or popcorn hour could be hacked to run XBMC, then I came across the fiirestations. These are custom PCs, I guess, running LinuxMCE in a nice form factor at a decent price. I think they're running Kubunto 7.04 or 7.10. http://www.fiire.com/fiire-station.php So, could that be used to run XBMC? Or is there a better roll-your-own solution that has a similar form factor and power usage? (Th...... - 2008-11-18
» Zidane or Riquelme?
hi guys. argentina supporter here. just wanted to know what you thought of this debate we had on the argentina boards and which caused some posters to lose their tempers. we were talking about argentina's loss to brazil in the final, with some criticising juan roman riquelme's performance. this led others to (incredibly in my view) compare riquelme favourably to zidane. when some of us said zidane was the better player, some people went crazy. here's the link: http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=567260&page=13 i've edited it for you so you don't have to read the whole thread: Yesterday, with the players Argentina fielded, Zidane would had also lost 3-0. your original argument was absurd. zidane or roman? youre cra...... - 2008-11-18
» Citibank Virtual Account Numbers
Citibank has added a feature called Virtual Account Numbers that matches a similar feature offered for awhile by Amex: you can now generate additional account numbers for use online. This way, each time you use your credit card online, you can generate a different account number, can optionally set charge limits for each virtual number, and cancel virtual numbers individually once the authorized charges are posted. Presumably, you could also use these for recurring charges, such as health club memberships, where you want to be able to easily stop a merchant from making additional charges without changing your real credit card number. This is all accessed from the accountonline.com site. They have a web tool and a downloadable tool to m...... - 2008-11-18
» Assistant for standard load() pattern?
Jack, now that I'm deep in the YUI / ext model of development, I've seen a certain pattern emerge that I think follows from your initial example source. It's been a bit hazardous to implement so I thought I'd suggest some possible improvements to make things easier for everyone. Since the typical "enlightened" web app now starts with raw HTML and contributes JS behaviors, we all probably have the same loop: an "App.init" call which triggers on document ready. This uses getEl() and getEls() to hook up the various on-clicks, etc. to the existing HTML. The problem occurs when you want to make an AJAX callback to retrieve HTML, rather than JS/XML data for existing DOM elements. In this case, the HTML you've pulled in did not exist at i...... - 2008-11-18

Do you believe in Shinto? Is it like Judaism in the sense that it's like an ethnic religion? Can a foreigner be a Shintoist?Do you believe in Shinto? Is it like Judaism in the sense that it's like an ethnic religion? Can a foreigner be a Shintoist? Shinto is native to Japan but in many ways it doesn't seem to be as strict as judaism when it comes to what is required of a follower so I would imagine it to much easier for a foreigner to be a shintoist than a judaist. A non-jew turning into judaism isn't unheard of either though. I am very much a monotheist and don't believe in the kind of worship that shinto (way of the gods/spirits) suggests. I think comparing judaism and shito might get quite hard because of their fundamentally differ...... - 2008-11-18
» Help with Reward Travel
Im new to these boards so I hope that Im asking this in the right place. My husband and I were members of the Cdn program for years and with the merger we now have about 200,000 miles each on AC. We've never booked award travel on AC yet(other than having our last award to HNL transfered over to the new flight numbers) and there seems to be some confusion with the various agents that Ive spoken with at AC re: the award we're considering. With CP we were only allowed 1 stopover on award flights. We are considering biz class to Australia(from YYZ) and I noticed on the AC web site that for Asia and Aust. from Canada and cont. US they indicate that a passenger is allowed either 2 stopovers, or 1 stopover and 1 open jaw. Yet when I spoke to 2 di...... - 2008-11-18
» Compare euglena to a plant cell. Make a list of similarities and differences.?
little bit of help please :)euglena are both heterotrophic and autotrophic which means they produce energy through photosynthesis and consumption of Glucose. Euglena require light in order to photosynthesize, however they do not require light in order to reproduce energy though consumption of Glucose. Plant cells have the same basic structures as animal cells, as well as these 2 additional structures: Cell wall provides support for the cell. It surrounds the cell membrane and gives it strength and form. This allows plants to be rigid even though they do not have a skeleton like most animals do. Chloroplasts the power plants of the cell. Hi, I am about to book a flight from YUL to BCN in June with USAirways. First time with them. We will be travelling 4 people (including a 9 month-old baby). We should be flying a Boeing 767. Will I find comfort and space???? Should I fly on an Airbus 300 from AC.... anyone has done this flight before, any comments thanksAC does not have a direct flight to BCN. » What's it called when...?
What's it called when people go to a public place and then freeze all at the same time from a few minutes and then move on?Tableau (singular) or tableaux (plural), pronounced as tab-LOW (x is silent). The word is French and means picture. Tableaux are very old, dating back at least to the Renaissance, and flash mobs are a recent phenom, but the first person who answered is technically correct. Tableaux and flashmobs are not the same thing, they just happened to overlap in this situation. Tableaux can be done for anything to a few seconds to hours. Flashmobs usually show up, without public announcement, engage in some activity without obvious direction, then leavel. So - both terms take in a lot more than the situation you descr...... - 2008-11-18

Dates that are inbetween 1st and 12th days of the month are not changing into the right format. any suggestions?Hi, for anything this straightforwardly buggy (esp. on a version as old as 97, that few people around here are using any more), it's always a good idea to start with MS's sizable online help files. Quoted from www.japantimes.co.jp Sunday, May 20, 2007 Grisly crimes spark rethink of 'safe' Japan Beheading, shootout among recent mayhem By HANS GREIMEL The Associated Press A mother beheaded by her son. A baby who suffocated after being stuffed by his parents in the baggage compartment of a motorbike while they played pachinko. A murderous shooting spree during a hostage standoff. An outbreak of violent crime in the past week has triggered soul-searching and outrage in a country that has long prided itself on its safe streets and tight communal bonds. I have used these sorts of credit cards for years but am calling it quits. I have had it with the difficulties of ever usinig the points you accumulate. Instead, I am getting a rebate Visa that pays 1.25% back and, unlike Discover, does so from the first dollar. If I charge $30,000 in a year, that is $375 CASH no strings attached, as compared to 30,000 or perhaps 35,000 miles that are harder then hell to use.Hi, i think you might get more response from either the visa/mastercard forum or Amex forum. » Who decides what should be called what? like why is the sky called the colour BLUE and the grass GREEN?
Conventions in the language. The more sophisticated the language, the more color names it has. As far as color perception, some people have less of it than others. For example, reds are less vivid for some people (typically male). Shades of red and brown aren't as readily distinguishable by these people. This probably has something to do with the number of cones (color reception cells) in the eye each person has, as well as language limitations. Color perception also changes with age. Structures in the eye, for example, cause it to be less sensitive to blues as one gets older. That's why the sky is never as blue as they remember it when they were children. This age change perception can be also be seen in the color...... - 2008-11-18

If I set the value of a datepicker, then try to read it to submit the form, it initially comes back as a string, but the next time I read the value, it comes back as date. this is a natural path to adulthood. Steal some of your friends parents booze (that way you don't get in sh!t for it) and get smashed. Welcome to the club. Not a great way to start your adult life but if that is what you choose to do.... It's a hoax to bring in revenue for your state. Oh, and it makes drinking fun seeing as you have a chance of getting caught. By that I mean the nervousness gives a feeling of excitement. Once people turn the legal age, drunk driving becomes a major issue. MIP > DUI. I also think that the federal government shouldn't have such a big say in it seeing as its more of a state issue.

(Th...... - 2008-11-18

hi guys. argentina supporter here. just wanted to know what you thought of this debate we had on the argentina boards and which caused some posters to lose their tempers. we were talking about argentina's loss to brazil in the final, with some criticising juan roman riquelme's performance. this led others to (incredibly in my view) compare riquelme favourably to zidane. when some of us said zidane was the better player, some people went crazy. here's the link: http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=567260&page=13 i've edited it for you so you don't have to read the whole thread: Yesterday, with the players Argentina fielded, Zidane would had also lost 3-0. your original argument was absurd. zidane or roman? youre cra......

Plant cells have the same basic structures as animal cells, as well as these 2 additional structures: Cell wall provides support for the cell. I've got XBMC Live up and running on a Dell Latitude 620D with everything going well. I wanted to try and get my Wii Remote working with it, as I read that this should work out of the box. » Article: Grisly crimes spark rethink of 'safe' Japan
Also, i don't think it's that hard to use the miles...there are many things you can do with the miles you earn... e.g. airport club memberships. ------------------ mailto:ahfang@earthlink.netahfang@earthlink.netSo let's see in four year...... - 2008-11-18

I have a form that I am trying to set initial values for, that is made up of several different layouts and subcomponents. Is there a way to check that all components are created, so that I can initialize the values of the form? Currently, I am catching "afterlayout", in the formpanel. If I set the value of a datepicker, then try to read it to submit the form, it initially comes back as a string, but the next time I read the value, it comes back as date. I am thinking this is because when I am initially setting the value of the datepicker, it is not fully initialized.code attached Highline.manda.quicksearch.MandaQuickSearchForm=Ex t.extend(Ext.FormPanel,{ initComponent:function(){ this.entitytypecombo=new Ext.form.ComboBox({la...... - 2008-11-18
» What do you think of underage drinking?
this is a natural path to adulthood. What airport screeners need is a bonus plan Our Washington politicians can finally stop fighting about how to best motivate the beleaguered airport security screeners.
