switching telecom partners...
January 6th, 2009
My 6-months w/ AT&T is coming up to an end. I've earned 6,000 CO OnePass miles for just signing up for LD service, for which my bill is minimal.
From a pure miles perspective, there's no real reason for me to stay w/ AT&T. The 5 miles/dollar isn't that much for me... So, I'm on the prowl for another program. I'm looking to top-off my orphan NW account to at least get enough for an upgrade on CO. NW now has a (poor) deal w/ MCI to earn 2,000 miles for 2-months of LD service.
OK, so once that is done, assuming that the promo is still running, can I go back to AT&T for another 6,000 miles?
I've read the Terms and Conditions (https://www.rewards.att.com/terms/index.html), but they do not seem to address the issue of "one time only" or "once per year" or "once per account", etc... this leads me to wonder if I could switch providers for a week, or a day and then go back...
any thoughts?
The biggest Problem: I always got (small) bills debited to my credit card. The reason: I still had a service which was not automatically cancelled (800-service, lokal toll etc.).
Now I always ask the "old" company to cancel any and all services I have with them! By phone AND by e-mail.
On MCI, by default they will sign you up for a plan that has a $3.95 monthly fee. You can ask them to switch you to a no-fee plan, but it will have a$.40/call connection fee. I'm fine with that because I use onesuite.com for my longdistance.
This qualifies for miles? When did you do this and which airline did you get miles on?
